Leisure Field - Recreation Committee
​​Fairlands Playing Field is maintained by a group of volunteers. The tasks they undertake include:

Cutting the grass on the field

Strimming the surrounds

Levelling the field
-
Reseeding or re-turfing worn areas
-
Clearing dog faeces from the field (why do owners still allow their dogs to foul areas where children play?)

Controlling moles
-
Clearing the ditch and ensuring that the flow is not restricted
-
Preparing the cricket square (Cricket Matches)
-
Preparing football pitches
The objective of the volunteers is to produce a beautiful environment for the residents of the local area to relax and enjoy the facilities.

GATES
DO NOT GET SHUT IN! Please be reminded that the gates are liable to be closed and locked at night. This could be anytime from 8:00pm or dusk, whichever is the earlier. If the hall is in use or the bar is open they may be open later but this cannot be relied on. If using a car and walking the dog later than normal because of the heat it may be best to park in the road.
